GREENO2 Project: Final Consortium Meeting in Viterbo Ahead of the Closing Phase and Multiplier Events
On April 9, 2026, the final Project Meeting of the GREENO2 – Green Roofs in Higher Education consortium took place at the Aula Magna of the Rectorate of the University of Tuscia. The meeting represented a decisive milestone for the project, bringing together all European partners at a critical stage of the journey, now moving towards its conclusion and the full valorisation of its results.
After months of intensive collaboration, experimentation, and joint development, the consortium had the opportunity to consolidate achievements, analyse progress, and define the final actions needed to ensure the overall success of the initiative.
The meeting represented a strategic moment for consolidating activities and shared perspectives, supported by the outputs developed throughout the project. It opened with institutional greetings from the Project Coordinator, Prof. Andrea Colantoni (University of Tuscia), followed by partner introductions and a review of the project’s general objectives. Full alignment with the expected results of the Erasmus+ K220 programme and the defined performance indicators was reaffirmed.
The meeting was not only a technical reporting occasion, but above all a moment of strategic alignment among all partners, aimed at strengthening the shared vision: promoting green roofs as key infrastructures for more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive cities.
Review of Work Packages and Operational Responsibilities
A central part of the day was dedicated to reviewing the Work Packages (WPs) and planning the final activities:
- WP1 – Management, coordinated by the University of Tuscia
- WP2 – Research & Pedagogical Methodologies, jointly developed by the University of Tuscia and the University of Cádiz
- WP3 – GREENO2 Digital Toolset, coordinated by the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences
- WP4 – Communication & Dissemination, led by the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
During this session, partners discussed the progress of deliverables, the distribution of responsibilities, and alignment with the project budget, with particular attention to the final implementation phase scheduled between April and August 2026.
One of the most significant moments of the meeting was the presentation of the project’s main results, with particular reference to the four Work Packages. The following key outputs were showcased:
- the GREENO2 digital platform
- the AI-PANC system (Artificial Intelligence Proficiency Assistant and Networking Center)
- the MOOC dedicated to green roofs in higher education
- training materials, manuals, and curricula developed by the partners
- dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities
These tools represent the innovative core of the project and provide a concrete foundation for the transferability and scalability of the results across other European contexts.
In the afternoon, the consortium further explored the project’s impact assessment, collecting partner feedback and discussing quality, effectiveness, and engagement indicators.
Special attention was given to the long-term sustainability of the developed solutions: digital platforms, training content, and methodological tools will remain active beyond the project’s lifetime, ensuring continuity and lasting value.
Post-project dissemination strategies and possible scenarios for integration with other European initiatives were also discussed.
A key focus was placed on alignment with the KPIs for the final phase (April–August 2026), with the definition of operational responsibilities and shared deadlines for monitoring key indicators related to:
- participation and engagement
- digital content production
- dissemination and networking activities
The meeting also marked the transition towards the broader dissemination phase of the project: the upcoming Multiplier Events will be a key opportunity to share results with stakeholders, institutions, academia, and civil society.
Inclusion, Lessons Learned, and Project Closure
An additional session was dedicated to the analysis of inclusion and accessibility measures adopted within the project, highlighting good practices and recommendations for future initiatives.
Finally, the consortium reflected on lessons learned, strengths, and challenges encountered, with the aim of further improving the design and implementation of future European collaborations.
The Viterbo Project Meeting represented both a moment of synthesis and relaunch: on the one hand, the technical closure of a complex and articulated journey; on the other, the beginning of the final dissemination phase of the project’s results.
With the Multiplier Events now approaching, GREENO2 is preparing to share its tools, methodologies, and vision at European level, contributing to the promotion of green roofs as essential infrastructures for the future of sustainable cities.
